FDA Approves New Tranquilizing Darts for Children

Washington | The FDA announced this morning it gave its approval for the marketing release of their new anesthetic dart guns, specifically designed to calm children suffering from ADHD.

The new product is capable of putting a child to sleep in less than 4 seconds and reportedly has no serious long-term effects on the health of children.

These new tools specifically created to assist parents with children suffering from ADHD have a practical range of approximately 10 to 12 feet (3 to 4 meters) and their effect is meant to last for a period of 4 to 6 hours per injection.

The manufacturer advises, however, not to use the gun more than 1 to 2 times daily on the same child in order to prevent the development of a physical addiction to the product.

“With the dramatic rise of ADHD cases, there was a very high demand for this kind of product,” explains Mr. William Murray, the company’s public relations manager.

The micro darts reportedly have no serious long-term effects on the health of children

The organization Mothers against Drugs qualified these darts as a “very dangerous solutionand has filed an application for review of the decision in court.

“It is simply ridiculous and completely unacceptable to think that we will start shooting our children with guns and injecting them drugs ourselves,” says Martha Brown, the vice-president of the organization.

“You might as well use a taser gun while you’re at it” she told reporters during the press conference.

Despite the significant controversy surrounding the release of the product, the product should be available in drug stores around the country this summer.

Where was this stuff 25 years ago when we had two ADHD kids in the house? It was horrible….parents got attacked….windows were broken….police were here often…in and out of counseling,,,,,in and out of private schools…in and out of military schools,,,therapy…..different meds….there were many times our kids could have used this kind of drug..I physically got to where I couldn’t handle them during meltdowms and freak outs..

I agree…I had twins, both had ADHD along with other psychiatric disorders and I would have probably used this on ME!

    But marijuana is still illegal.

    • I know, right? I’d venture to say that would be more effective than using dart guns.

    • Marijuana should be legalized and alcohol should become illegal , no one has ever died from a marijuana overdose , nor has anyone ever died of cirrhosis or liver failure due to marijuana use , domestic violence would decrease by 90% at least. Over 150,000 people die in the United States from alcohol use and abuse . Imagine worldwide , if we legalized and taxed marijuana we could actually get out of debt . At least we would be on the right track . Just my two cents . I will never shoot my kid , I love him for the person that he is , he has ADD non- hyper and I have ADD and we are just fine .

  4. i have children with adhd and asd..the adhd in my house is manageable however if they could do this for a child having a meltdown.hitting bitting kicking scratching and spitting and trying to run into a highway..id be more impressed by its uses

  5. Maybe patents need to learn how t o deal with their children and not just drug the child. What does this teach a child. Be good or mommy will shoot you. Come on seriously?

    • Umm, Kristl, are you retarded?

    • I think you may be misinformed might I suggest you do the following.

      1. Google ADHD symptoms.

      2. Consider this as an alternative by a concerned parent that is trying to cope with having a child that has ADHD instead of a punishment.

3.(most importantly) Babysit a child with ADHD for one day and consider they deal with that every day and night as well as the average stresses of life.

    • I agree with you but I have a child with ADHD so don’t tell me about dealing with my child you don’t know what you’re talking about

    • I agree with you K deal with your children don’t drug them. One I’d my kiddies have ADD/ADHD one has ODD they are not on drugs AT ALL. I REFUSE to drug my children lots and lots of hardwork

    • No people agreeing with this are ignorant I am a mother of 3 children. I myself have suffered from adhd but thank the lord for my patient mother I came out great my oldest (5) also has adhd and with rules and schedule my son give me no big trouble he is an amazing smart boy. this is just a quick fix for lazy parent. You need to simulate there brains to bring the energy level down.

    • Having taken care of a family of 4 children, two with ADHD and one with ADD,I know it is difficult to handle the 24/7 life however, resorting to using drugs that can be come physically additive if used more than 2 x daily is not a solution it just makes everything worse.

Um you ppl are dumb if you think this is ok. I had a son with ODD and that is way worse than ADHD at least there are meds. for that. That is just an excuse to not do your best to handle it. I know it’s not easy but I would of never stuck a dart in my kid….

    • So Joe you don’t think that a child will after having been shot by a dart gun 20 plus times in their life think shooting people is ok. Yes it can be difficult raising a child with ADHD hell raising a child is hard enough but their are other solutions. It’s like saying its ok to shoot a mentally ill person just because they are hard to handle. If you want or need help ask for it. But shooting a child with anything will only breed more school shootings etc. Lets stop this before it happens.

    • I agree with you completely , this is completely insane and what I see you down the road , is criminals and the government will make stronger doses and then who’s to say where they stop ? Pretty soon everybody will be walking around with guns they put people to sleep in 1 second. This is the end of the world as we know it . Insane . People just need to learn patience .
