Man kicked out of all-you-can-eat buffet after eating more than 50 lbs of food, sues for $2-million

Springfield| A man from Massachusetts is suing Golden Corral Corporation for 2 million dollars, for false advertising, after being literally thrown out of one of the chain’s restaurants by the employees, last Thursday.

According to witnesses, the 51 year old man who lives on welfare, was expelled from the restaurant after he then spent more than 7 hours on-site, ingesting a quantity of food which has been estimated between 50 and 70 pounds.

Despite the fact that the restaurant advertised the buffet as “all-you-can-eat”, the manager of the establishment seems to have  lost patience at some point, telling him that his meal would be free but asking him to leave. The manager’s intervention angered Mr Fleming, and  a brief altercation took place before he was finally pushed out of the restaurant.

He immediately called the police and filed a complaint against the restaurant, and he intends to make the people responsible for his mistreatment, pay for their actions.

“It’s a serious injustice, and I am deeply insulted!” Mr. Flemmings told reporters. “With my income, I rarely go to the restaurant, so I try to get as much as I can for my money when I do. This was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. Not only did they kick me out while I was still hungry, but they looked at me like I was disgusting, like I was not worthy of eating there! It’s unacceptable, and I demand a compensation!”

Mr Flemming says the employee of the Golden Corral did not use any insulting language, but he claims that the disgust that was visible on their faces has left him with some deep emotional wounds.

The direction of the restaurant chain quickly issued a press release announcing that the decision to expel Mr. Flemmings was a regrettable personal initiative from an overzealous franchise manager. They also said that some financial indemnities had been offered to compensate the damage suffered by the victim, but had been refused.

Mr Flemmings confirmed that he had been offered a significant amount of money by the company, but he is convinced that he can get more if he goes to court.

The primary hearing in this case should take place on March 7, at the Springfield District Court.

  1. hey. it says all you can eat. if they cant handle him. that’s their problem.

    • yeah all you can eat for normal people. Fatties who come in and leave 7 hrs! later after eating 50-70 pounds needs “special” treatment. This guy has zero self control and apparently needs to be treated like a child and have limits imposed on him.

    • I agree with u if it.. If I could eat that much I would too… But for his weight some people have problem trying to lose it and the government won’t do nothing to help these kind of people… I know I am 5’4 and 197 pounds and I go to the gym every single day to lose weight and I don’t eat much… But yet I can’t lose a fucking pound.. I have been on my Dr for help and they blow me off… So if I can’t get help to lose 50 pounds how in the hell is he going to get the help he needs to lose weight… I don’t know this guy but I feel bad for him and anyone else that is that big and can’t do anything about it…. This government talks about obesity in America but that’s all they do… They need to stop talking and start taking action and help these people out…

    • All you can eat, but be reasonable… after 7 hours, they should be able to charge him for at least 4 meals in that time, 1 for every hour and half he spent eating, that’s more time than the average family would take for each meal. I would say he owes them.

    • So tired of the welfare rats that think they are entitled! All of us hard working people in this nation having to support the worthless lazy no good bums!!!

    • ONE “all you can eat” meal. A meal is NOT a 7 hour stay…

    • That’s right…..they say “all you can eat”……and that is what is going to win him his lawsuit. There is no restrictions listed in their advertising. Even though a normal person couldn’t ingest all that food for 7 hrs, the law IS the law!

At a minimum, it’s deceptive advertising. If Golden Corral goes on record by claiming that it’s buffet is All-You-Can -Eat and then ousts a man for eating all he can, then they should be held accountable.

    • For normal people not for fat people who eat 50-70 pounds of food. What a fat pig for him to do that!! I cant stand to see fat people eat like they are going to the electric chair. Disgusting!

    • They wanted to get him out of there before he had to use the rest room!!

    • Just when you thought you had seen or heard it all the assholes come out of the woodwork blaming the overweight man for his eating at an “All you can eat” establishment. While Golden Corral has never been high on my restaurant list they should be sued for $20,000,000.00 for the way they handled the situation.

    • The resturant is irresponsible and negeligent in encouraging this dangerous to health behavior (gluttony)so they should be sued. It may make them rethink about this policy. If a pub did this with alcohol there wouls be an outcry, but eating disorders are signs of an addiction just as much as alcoholism. If this guy gets a large (no pun intended) settlement he will likely be taken off benefits and in all likelyhood eat himself to death well before his money runs out. If you are reading this fella, use the money to get a gastric band operation, it may save your life.

    • fuck this guy

  2. THAT MAN IS A PIG, nothing more, nothing less. Yes it is an eat all you want buffet, but common decency dictates that you don’t act like a pig in a trough as he apparently did, how dare he place the owners in a position like that. I suppose if the pig had of died from eating too much his relatives would have sued.

    • Please get over yourself. You can’t put a trough out, and then call people pigs. If you had a bar that said “All you can drink for $6” , how many people do you think would stop at $12 worth? It is an irresponsible policy and if this guy succesfully sues them it will serve them right for encouraging gluttony. They also might consider getting a seperate entrance for wheelchairs only, and making the main entrance a little narrower, oops no, that wont work because someone will squeeze in but not be able to leave, lol

  3. Only in America!!

  4. It’s ok to eat but do it in moderation have some respect.Hes in a public plac, he should show respect on how much he eats. Not nice what he’s doing.and being obese is a medical condition has nothing to do with being on welfare.

  5. Shame on Golden Corral for not backing up their manager for doing the right thing!!! They should have immediately filed a counter suit against this moron…..Who the hell can eat 50+ pounds of food and still say they are hungry.

    • I agree. He was still hungry after eating 50-70 pounds of food. WOW

    • He said he was still hungry after eating 50 to 70 pounds of food. If they hadn’t kicked him out I wonder how much more he would’ve eaten. Oink Olnk

    • Exactly!!!

      STILL HUNGRY?!?!?!
Man, I can’t even finish more than 3 plates (one of which is salad) before I NEED to leave the Corral, dessert-less. LOL

The manager did the right thing.

This man needs to get off his high horse and remove the plank from his eye before messing with Golden Corrals splinter.

He also obviously has some very deep emotional, physical and mental issues that need immediate addressing.
So I hope to God the judge court orders him as a danger to himself, then off to Extreme Makeover: Weight-loss Edition.

    • People who have a constant hunger craving due to physical or mental condition, that is who.
